How we actually review a game here
People sometimes ask how long a review takes, and the honest answer is: it depends on the game. A casual puzzler might get eight or ten hours of play. An RPG can eat a whole week before I feel ready to write.
The process is boring but important. Install, play with notes open, hit the parts most reviewers skip, and only then form an opinion. I try to reach the point where the game shows its true colors, whether that's boredom or a genuine spark.
We don't chase launch-day clicks. If that means our review lands a week late, fine. I'd rather be right than first.
The rating comes last, almost as an afterthought. The words matter more than the number, and I hope people read past it.
